Bradley: Is it hard to write a book?

Georgia: Yes and no. You get to do something you really enjoy; you can be as creative as you want. However, it takes hard work and dedication to complete the process. Writing ‘The Thirteenth’ took two years from start to finish.

Molly: Where do you get your ideas for your characters? Sometimes they’re snippets of my family and friends; other times they come from a place I like to call my own personal TV channel in my head.

Emile: What inspired you to write the book?

Georgia: J.K. Rowling inspired me. Although I thought her books were amazing it was more the person she is that made me think I even stood a chance of writing a book. She redefined for me what I believed authors to be.

Jasmine: What made you want to write a book?

Georgia: A story that wouldn’t leave me alone and characters that I thought people would love as much as I did.

Ellen: Who is your favourite author?

Georgia: Normally the author of the last book I read and enjoyed. At the moment that would be H. G. Wells. However, the author that really made me think about books in a new light after a slow start was Steven King. He taught me that with just words placed on a page I could be made to hide under the covers at night.

Emily: Why did you call your book 'The Thirteenth'?

Georgia: Sorry Emily, you’ll have to read the book to find that out.

Shannon: How many minutes a day to you spend writing?

Georgia: When I first started I would write for two hours a day, minimum. Now I have schools to visit, interviews and general promotional work so it’s more whenever and wherever.

Summer: When you were little did you want to become a writer or something else?

Georgia: No. Writer never entered my mind. I lived in a small village with no shop so once a week we would travel into town to do the shopping. When we were there I would watch the Tesco check-out girl in awe. So I have to admit that that was the first employment aspiration I had.

Ryan: How many books are you planning to write?

Georgia: The Thirteenth is the first in a six part series. I aim to focus on that until it’s completed and then work on some other projects I have hiding in drawers around my house.

Corey: Do you think your book will be made into a movie?

Georgia: I would be very excited and honoured if The Thirteenth and subsequent books were made into movies. I think the story really leans towards the big screen. Although I would have some rules for the big Hollywood producers! I would work my hardest to keep it as close to the book as possible and I would want British actors to play the British characters.
