10.05.12 What a lovely afternoon I had at Church Langton Hanbury Kindergarten on May 2nd. I met with 17 budding authors aged 3-4. They were so full of ideas and energy. We had great fun talking about what authors do, and then went on to create some stories using pictures. Afterwards, I read the amazing Dr Suess's One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish.

Initial Thoughts
1. There are no signs of slowing down for Val and her friends. Teleported from one adventure to another, my heart was racing wondering what will happen next!
2. Sci-fi awesomeness! Nyteria Rising is ramped up with amazing science-fiction elements. Great setting, characters, and gadgets. Loved it!
3. Very cool twists and surprises. Unexpected plot direction, and new character development made this story a page-turner.
4. Loved the characters! More characters are introduced, and I wanted to read more of them and their back story.
5. A new threat is introduced, and the pressure to save not one world, but two, weighs heavily on Val's shoulders. The plot made for a very intense read.

14.09.11 I can't even begin to tell you what a pleasure it is for me to tell you that The Thirteenth has won the Lincolnshire Young Peoples Book Award 2011 category 12-14 age group.
I'm so excited to be taking part in the award ceremony being held in Horncastle on the 21st of September between 1 and 3pm. I would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate David Walliams in winning the 9-11 age category with Mr Stinky.

27.02.11 World book week is here and I'm fully booked everyday – even going in fancy dress to one school.
As well as that I have a full day on Saturday starting at the Nottingham Branch of Waterstones for a signing from 11am to 4pm, then a train journey back to Lincoln to Sign copies of the book and chat to readers at the Lincoln branch on the high street from 5-7.
Paul Tyler from The Reading Room will be there and I've been told that there will be some book giveaways.

23.10.10 We did it again – this time we took The Turncoats to Number 1 in the Lincoln High Street Waterstones bestseller chart. I think I can say wholeheartedly that we had an amazing launch. Thanks has to go to Gill and all the staff at Lincoln High Street Waterstone’s who helped make it such a huge success.
This Saturday, you can come and meet me at the Waterstone’s store in the Highcross Leicester between 12-3pm for a fantastic Halloween event launch. All the staff will be in fancy dress - the kids will love it!

26.09.10 The Lincolnshire launch event date of The Turncoats has been brought forward from November to October 23rd and I’m honoured to announce that the launch will take place at Waterstone’s Lincoln High Street store between 12 and 3pm.
This will be followed by a Midlands launch event of The Turncoats on October 30th, which will take place at the Leicester High Cross Waterstones store, between 12 and 3 pm, just in time for Halloween!
The Thirteenth signing events will take place at Nottingham Waterstones store on October 2nd between 11 and 4pm and Grimsby Waterstones store on October 9th between 12 and 3pm.

29.07.10 Ok, we’re cooking with gas this month at The Thirteenth!
Only just over a week to go now until my book signing at Waterstone’s Corner Exchange Arcade store, 12 - 2.00pm on Saturday 7th August.
If you already have a signed copy of The Thirteenth, you can still pop in, as in association with Twisted-by-Design, we’ve created an exclusive collectable postcard to reveal the cover design and title of book two! (Book one postcards will also be available).
We’ll also be joined by Kerry & Lisa from Siren FM’s (107.3 FM) Midweek Madams show.
I’m very pleased to say that The Thirteenth now has its first front window display at Waterstone’s on the high street in Lincoln. A very proud moment indeed, and our total for Waterstone’s stores stocking the book has increased to 97.
When I visited Leicester Waterstones I was pleased to see that The Thirteenth had been selected for their recommended children's summer read section. I'm also honoured to have been chosen as the prize giver for the "Schools Book Quiz Final" which is taking place in Lincolnshire this year.

10.06.10 I can’t believe we're already half way through the year. It only seems like yesterday that the first books were being sold and now you can get a copy of The Thirteenth in Japan!
I'm very pleased to say that I will have my first Waterstones signing on the 7th of August at the Ex-Arcade Store in Lincoln. So if you want to purchase a copy or have an unsigned copy, pop in between 12-2pm to meet me and I'll sign it for you.
Plus as an added bonus you'll be the first people to see the cover of the new book!
I’m still very busy visiting schools and this month I've moved further afield into Leicestershire and Rutland, which has been great fun.
I had the pleasure of doing a radio interview with BBC Scotland and Author Richard Havers which you can listen to on our interviews page.
I'm also working very hard to get book two ready for November. After the signing at Waterstones, we'll be uploading the new cover here on the site and also onto the Facebook fansite.

25.05.10 It’s sunny outside and I’m just sitting here contemplating how much fun I’m having promoting the book!
Last week I had an amazing visit to the Y8 students at Monks’ Dyke Technology College in Louth and the list of visits I’m making in May in is endless.
The facebook fan site has surpassed the half century Facebook fansite.
The book and I have a double page spread in the Lincolnshire Today Magazine check it out here.
However, the most amazing news for you guys is the fact that the book is now on sale in 76 Waterstones stores spanning England, Scotland, Wales, Jersey and The Isle of Man!
